SO WHAT GOVERNMENT INCENTIVES ARE AVAILABLE?
The First Home Guarantee (FHBG) – Guaranteeing eligible first home buyers to buy their first home sooner with a deposit as little as 5%. This is for homes up to a maximum value of $600,000 in metro WA
The Regional First Home Buyer Guarantee (RFHBG) - Guaranteeing eligible first home buyers to buy their first home sooner with a deposit as little as 5%. For homes up to a maximum value of $450,000 in regional WA.
The Family Home Guarantee (FHG) – to support eligible single parents with at least one dependent child to buy a home, with a deposit as little as 2%. You do not have to be a First Home Buyer to be eligible. For homes up to a maximum value of $600,000 in metro WA, or $450,000 in regional WA.
WA’s FIRST HOME OWNERS GRANT (FHOG)
In addition to the national incentives noted above, you may also be eligible for the FHOG.
$10,000 grant for First Home Buyers who are building a new home. Note this also includes completed homes from builders that have never been lived in.
Stamp Duty exemptions are also available depending on the property:
Established home less than $430,000 = Nil Stamp Duty (save $14,430)
Established home between $430,000 - $530,000 = tiered discounts
Vacant land less than $300,000 = Nil Stamp Duty (save $8,835)
AM I ELIGIBLE FOR THE FIRST HOME OWNERS GRANT?
Are you an individual who is over 18 years of age?
Have you (and your spouse) ever owned property in Australia?
Are you an Australian citizen or a permanent resident?
Do you plan on living in this house for at least 6 months in the first year of purchasing?
